It seems like a tough time to be a Catholic. The Church and the Pope are both being slammed constantly on tv, radio and the newspaper.
Many of us are wondering what happened to the America we grew up in. The Great society was never this scary! God bless you Fr.Gavin for sharing so much good information with us! It is needed! Looking forward to reading every shred of text on your blog. I know I will learn something in Christ’s life or The Bible I didn’t know that helps me get through another day.

Having just returned from the SNAP convention held in Chicago I am
more aware than ever of what a blessing Bishop Corrada and Fr.Gavin at St.Mary’s are! What a pleasure it was to pull up the diocesan website on a netbook and actually show people where a Catholic bishop is protecting his flock by addressing problems occurring within the community. No sweeping things under the rug. No transferring
offenders. Bp.Corrada has told people over and over that if they suspect
harm coming to a child, to call the police 1′st! I spoke with many people at this convention. It was not always fun. The leader of the NYC Atheists gave me his business card proclaiming him as “The David Letterman of
the Hopelessly Damned” when I was telling him a story about the power of prayer. Thank you Bp.Corrada and Fr.Gavin for giving me the training, support and motivation to reach out to all victims of abuse.
Maria Goretti Network is a self-help support group for all victims of
abuse. It would not exist without Bp.Corrada and Fr.Gavin’s guidance.
East Texas is blessed to have men of integrity like these in their midst.
To God be the Glory but thanks also need to go out to men of God who honor their vows.
